Welcome Poetry Lovers! All are Invited!!
We are delighted to have poet Wendy Fulton Steginsky join us this month at the Newtown Bookshop! Be sure to read Wendy's upcoming interview at lynnfanok.weebly.com. Bring a friend along and share a poem or two. We look forward to seeing you!
Wendy Fulton Steginsky is the author of The Tide of Bermuda’s Light (Aldrich Press, 2014) and Let This Be Enough (Aldrich Press, 2016). She attributes her love for poetry to growing up on the shores of Bermuda where the sea’s rhythms seeped into her bones and stayed. A sense of place is a lasting thread in her life and art. Her work has been published in two volumes of Bermuda Anthology of Poetry, Bermuda Reading and Writing Festival Companion 2014, courtesy of Read*Write*Bermuda Books and the Buechner Society of Bermuda, And The Questions Are Enough, Schuylkill Valley Journal of the Arts, US 1 Worksheets, online at tongues of the ocean, Wild River Review and featured in an exhibition, Making Magic: Beauty in Word and Image at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania (November 2012 through March 2013). Currently she resides happily in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
The first half of the monthly meeting is devoted to a reading by a featured poet from the group or by a published poet. The second half hour allows open mike time for group members to share a few poems they've written, or they may choose to read poems written by their favorite poets. In the future, we may include poetry workshops to the group's activities. If you are interested in sharing a collection of poems, please email Lynn at firstname.lastname@example.org .
The meeting will be facilitated by Lynn Fanok, who has written a collection of poems about her experiences as a survivor’s daughter examining her family, memory, and history. Her poetry has appeared in Burnt Bridge and other journals. Lynn holds degrees in English from The Pennsylvania State University and Arcadia University. You'll find some of her poetry at lynnfanok.weebly.com.
All are invited and welcome to join us!
