Diane Duane is a wizard in coming up with fantastic story ideas! Each book is new and exciting, pushing the bounds of wizardry and magic as you knew it in the books prior to it! Duane holds a physics degree, so many of the elements, situations and events are things that actually exist, are possible, or have been discussed among physics masters! You come away almost wondering if there really are wizards walking in our midst without our knowledge! Completely wonderful! |

Dealing with Dragons  This series combines humor, character, bravery, imagination, and the fairy tale to create something completely unique and fantastic! This series is one of my favorites, and is included in my personal library! I have read them all twice already and laugh every time! |

Sabriel  This book is the beginning of a wonderful fantasy trilogy! The characters are rich and interesting; the plot is great! The world seems so real, you almost imagine you could journey there! Filled with humor and imagination, this series definitely shines! This series is another in my personal library! A definite favorite! |

Magic of Madness  I have read tons of books, but I was still surprised with this one! This book and it's sequel describes magic very different than many other books I have read! It kept me wondering what was coming next and eagerly looking for more!

The Mediator  Author: Meg Cabot
I've never been a "girly book" fan. So, I was skeptical about this series by Meg Cabot. However, I was greatly surprised! It was wonderful, contemporary and completely humorous! For girls who like more contemporary literature and settings, humor, some action (she has to keep those ghosts in line after all!), romance, and a bit of the weird. |

Keeper of the Winds  I picked this book up not expecting anything but to be entertained, but it far exceeded those expectations! It was an intriguing, refreshing look at magic and these elements in the world we live! The heroine starts out as anything but and completely reluctant! She discovers things about her family she never believed could be possible! As the book goes on, she must decide how she will use these extraordinary abilities she has acquired: for good to save the world from evil, or for evil and destroy everyone she loves most?

Circle of Magic: Sandry's Book  Author: Tamora Pierce
This series is great! The four main characters are all well thought out and completely different! Tamora Pierce is one of my favorite authors (I have most of her books in my library!) and an excellent writer! It shows here in this series! Any books by her are a must read for teens, especially young girls! |

The Singer of All Songs  Magic is not a novel concept. However, to be able to use your magic only through singing chants? Astounding! This trilogy is unforgettable! The story line and plot twists and turns throughout each of the three books. Through it all, you keep wondering, "What does it really mean to be the Singer of All Songs? Who will it be?" I loved these books! Girls will be drawn to them more than guys, however, some guys may enjoy them equally as well. |

Across the Nightingale Floor  These books are wonderful! Action, adventure, mystery, war, romance, martial arts, & self discovery- everything you need for great reading! The main character starts off as a young boy who loses everything and goes on to become one of the leaders in his world! Ups and downs, twists and turns; this series is great for guys and adventurous girls! |

Anatopsis  Wow! This book is complex in form but simple to understand all at the same time! Anatopsis is a great heroine, both real and admirable! I loved it! |

The Legend of the Wandering King  This book is one of the best I have read in a while! Very similar to Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. This book has a good mix of adventure, danger, mystery, romance, destiny, magic and thought- everything to make a good book! It is easy to read and very thought provoking! It is a journey of discovery and magic that should not be missed! |

This series is wonderful and imaginative! Jane Yolen is a great writer and it shows in these books! If you like dragons, you will love this series! |

The Great Tree of Avalon  The first two installments in this trilogy are exciting! These books combine well known tales with new twists! It keeps you guessing right up until the end with it's action, suspense and drama! Wonderful for both guy and girl! |

The Five Ancestors: Tiger  The Five Ancestors series is a great action adventure story mixed with martial arts, intrigue, and self discovery! Surprises pop up in unexpected places! Great for guys and adventurous girls! |

Seeker  This book is the first of a new and exciting trilogy! The characters have real strength and weaknesses. Mix that with great plot twists and turns and you have a great story! |

The Squire's Tale  Author: Gerald MorrisThe Squire's Tale is one of those hidden gems that is completely wonderful but not well known! Gerald Morris loves the tales of Author and his knights of the round table! He took the tales and legends and wove them together with a humorous twist and satirical edge. I love these books! Juvenile age kids can read and enjoy them, Young adults will find them entertaining, and adults will appreciate the fantastic tapestry of thought, intent and humor! What does it really mean to become a knight? Why was Author such a magnificent and respected king? I can't recommend these books enough! |

Fall of a Kingdom  This book and the following two are engrossing and riveting! Right from the beginning you are caught up with the main characters and they carry you to the end! You will find yourself laughing at the interactions, smiling at their cleverness, saddened by a betrayal, and wanting to knock some sense into a few of the stubborn ones! Young adults who like YA fantasy and are looking for a book to bridge into the adult genre will find this book a perfect fit! Even adult fantasy readers will enjoy this book! Hilari Bell creates a fantastic journey through a very different world. |
